My First Commercial Shoot

Nothing too dramatic, this is a go at some food photography for some spec work that Kat (my better half for those that don't know) and some friends are doing. They're in advertising and asked me to do this shoot as a trial run. Which, of course, means that they might not go with me. I won't be offended though, they've promised me that I can attend the formal shoot if that happens. Works out for me! Anyways, here are some samples from the shoot.

Comments - feedback ok?

I liked these - I admit my food photos seem to always look the same (at least that is what my wife says :) ). I think the ones of the pies were particularly good - the lighting was really nice and homely and went well with the timber board underneath. My only suggestions would be trying to have few objects (some clutter) and trying images from the side. I think there were too many from above/high angle. Otherwise - best of luck! (I have only got one commercial shoot so far too!).

Yeah, I would prefer lower angles on most of those shots, but the art direction was not under my control. :) They have specific plans for the shots, so they wanted to go basically directly from above which does tend to flatten things out a bit.
